The Work Design Lead will partner with leaders and teams to design work across Uniting Communities to be effective, efficient, and enjoyable, optimised across people and technology, and linked to strategic priorities.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the design and redesign of work, roles, and organisational structures to ensure work is effectively organised across people, technology, and external providers, with clear accountabilities and decision rights.
- Develop and maintain frameworks to structure role families, role levels, capability requirements, and consistent accountabilities across the organisation.
- Partner with business leaders to review and optimise team structures, spans and layers, and role composition to improve organisational effectiveness, employee experience, and service outcomes.
- Identify current and future capability requirements by analysing how work is evolving, and partner with Culture & Capability to align work design with skills, development pathways, and workforce needs.
- Partner with Technology Services to identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and augment work through technology and AI in a responsible, ethical, and human-centred way.
What you'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in organisation design, workforce planning, job architecture, capability frameworks or similar.
- Experience translating strategic and operational priorities into organisational structures, role designs, and clear accountabilities.
- Experience identifying how work can be redesigned across people, processes, and technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Experience working in large, complex organisations and influencing senior leaders.
- Knowledge of the ethical and responsible application of AI and emerging technologies, and the ability to apply this understanding to work and role design.
