Uniting Communitites welcomes anyone wanting to share their skills, expertise, passion and time to express their interest in volunteering.

Volunteering with Uniting Communities often requires working with some of the most vulnerable people in our community. To ensure that we get the right peole placed in the right volunteer roles, we need to follow a rigorous recruitment process.

Once you have an idea of what are you would like to volunteer you follow our application process:

  • Complete an application via our website. All applications are reviewed to identify any potential volunteer role match with your area of interests, experience and skill set.
  • Attend a meeting to find out if the role is a good match for you and uss.
  • Complete the necessary background checks if successful in getting the volunteer role.
  • To get started as a Uniting Communitites volunteer you will need to attend training.

The application and recruitment process may take a few weeks. One thing that often takes the most time is the police check (DCSI and Working with Children Check), though not all voluntary roles require all of them.
