Uniting Communities is seeking NDIS Support Workers – Onsite Overnight Assistance (OOA) to work at U City, our award-winning mixed-use precinct in the heart of Adelaide.

This role provides overnight, on-call support to NDIS participants living at U City, as well as emergency response and concierge-style assistance to all residents.

About the Role

As an Onsite Overnight Assistant, you will work independently overnight, providing safe, respectful, and responsive support in line with individual NDIS support plans and the NDIS Code of Conduct.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing ad hoc overnight support to NDIS participants with OOA funding
  • Responding to emergency situations and providing first aid when required
  • Maintaining building security and undertaking hourly safety checks
  • Acting as Chief Fire Warden during overnight shifts
  • Responding to resident requests related to linen, maintenance, or assistive technology
  • Completing incident reports and shift handovers
  • Supporting a safe, calm, and welcoming environment for all U City residents
  • Check in and Check outs of our Serviced Accessible Accommodation and guest enquiries.

This role combines support work, safety oversight, and customer service, making it ideal for someone who is reliable, observant, and people-focused.

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability or Mental Health) or Diploma of Disability
  • Experience supporting people with disability in an inclusive, rights-based way
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Current:
    • National Police Check
    • Working With Children Check
    • NDIS Worker Screening Check
    • Vulnerable Persons Check
  • Willingness to complete required training, including Manual Handling (Category 1)
