The Lifestyle Assistant is responsible for designing and implementing high quality, comprehensive lifestyle programs that meet or exceed the expectations of residents with consideration to their social, functional, cultural and spiritual needs. 

About the Role

  • Support residents in their intellectual, social, and cultural development, emphasizing independence in all activities.
  • Customize programs for individuals or groups, considering unique needs, including those with special care requirements.
  • Gather feedback from families and staff to improve activities, and act on suggestions appropriately.
  • Regularly review Lifestyle Services, sharing outcomes and recommendations in meetings.
  • Update Residents' Lifestyle Care Plans 
  • Maintain detailed records to comply with regulations and support effective service delivery.
  • Secure needed equipment for activities while managing expenditures responsibly.
  • Uphold professional boundaries in relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal and ethical obligations and compliance audits
  • Coordinate and assess group activities and community involvement, ensuring evidence-based services.

About You

  • Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure
  • Professional experience working in a Lifestyle team
  • Experience in undertaking Audits as per Quality Improvement Committee or Quality Auditor
  • Proficient time management skills
  • Positive attitude toward residents and the role
  • High level of customer service skills with a Customer Service Centered approach
  • Strong administrative, self-management and organizational skills
  • High level of both written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to listen attentively and have patience
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and behavior to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in a culturally respectful way, or the capacity to develop these.
  • Maintenance of a First Aid Certificate
