As a Handyperson in our residential aged care home, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for residents and staff. This role requires a proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting the wellbeing and comfort of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic environment throughout the facility.

• Keep equipment clean, well-maintained, and safely stored.

• Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation and promptly report and address maintenance and safety concerns.

• Carry out gardening tasks, such as pruning and maintaining garden areas.

• Update and adhere to the preventative maintenance schedule.

• Perform general maintenance duties, including:

  1. Minor building repairs

  2. Equipment servicing (e.g., wheelchairs, shower chairs)

  3. Window cleaning, painting, and drain cleaning

  4. Restocking supplies

About You:

• Proven experience in gardening, repairs and maintenance.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of people.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, allowing you to prioritize tasks efficiently.

• Basic knowledge and proficiency in MS Office applications.

• Basic administrative and record-keeping abilities.

• A sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) issues relevant to this role.

• Relevant qualifications in gardening, horticulture, land management, or a related field. - DESIRABLE

Licenses and Certificates:

• A current, full, unrestricted South Australian Driver’s License.

• A valid National Police Check.
