Clinical Nurse Lead – Residential Aged Care Services

An opportunity exists for a compassionate and collaborative aged care professional to join Uniting Communities as our Clinical Nurse Lead.

This role provides high-level support to residents of our Murray Mudge Nursing Home in Glenelg, upholding each person’s dignity, choice and independence.

You will contribute your leadership skills and sound understanding of complex health management strategies to guide staff in providing the best experience possible residents, their carers, and loved ones.

What’s the role?

The Clinical Nurse Lead is a key leadership role within our Residential Aged Care team, helping to positively influence team culture and enhance residents’ quality of life through exceptional care and service.

With the support of other clinical leaders, you’ll be responsible for proactively mentoring a diverse team of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and Personal Care Workers, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of safety, dignity, and choice for each resident.

An average day as our Clinical Nurse Lead involves:

  • Overseeing nursing care tailored to each resident, including those with complex needs or dementia.
  • Supervising multidisciplinary care plans, ensuring each resident’s care journey is managed to the highest standard, from assessment through to evaluation.
  • Working within a case management framework.
  • Championing work health and safety practices, including effectively managing incidents and infection control.
  • Managing clinical data to drive improvements and ensure compliance.
  • Empowering your team, providing support and guidance to nursing and care staff, while mentoring nursing students during their placement.

Who is our ideal applicant?

You are a compassionate, dedicated nursing professional with demonstrated experience in a residential aged care setting, excelling in clinical care and team leadership.

Your qualifications will include a Bachelor of Nursing and current registration with AHPRA.

You thrive in a busy environment where you can guide care practices, ensure compliance with health standards, and support a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

The successful candidate will join a rotating roster, being on-call for one week every five weeks.
